What is the difference between Basic and Full Demo Installations

What is the difference between Basic and Full Demo Installations

After you first activate the theme, you will be prompted with a Basic Installation that will create some content for you, but not much. If you wish to import even more content to make it look more like on our Live Preview server then you should do the Full Demo Installation. Make sure you carefully read all alerts before proceeding. Below you can see 2 screenshots, the first one is the Basic Demo Installation and the second image is the Full Demo Installation.

Done. As you can see you now have your Top Navigation ready.

In this lesson we will show you where you can change your Page Template to Page with Sidebar or Fullwidth Page, etc.

Open Contact form 1 in the Contact section

Go to the Contact (1) section and copy the shortcode of the already created "Contact form 1" contact form into your clipboard (2). Or create a new one.

Insert the contact shortcode into your page

In the previous step you have copied the contact form shortcode which you can now insert anywhere inside your post or page content as shown in the above screenshot.

The Result

As you can see, we now have a contact form right where we have inserted it in the page content (at the bottom in this case)

Now let's have a look on how to customize the actual contact form.

Contact Form Customization

Contact Form 7 plugin has it's own documentation so now please continue by clicking on the "Docs" button in the upper right corner.

How to change Sidebar orientation in Posts

Unlike other sections like categories and pages, our posts have a special option for Sidebar Orientation called "Default". What that does is instead of specifying Sidebar Orientation post by post separately, the Sidebar Orientation settings are simply taken from the Site Preferences under that particular category. Think of it as a cascade. If you want all your posts in one category have the same Sidebar Orientation then simply specify it in Site Preferences only. But in case you need to have different Sidebar Orientation for each post separately, then please use the instructions in the above screenshot to have that extra layer of customization.

Open "Theme Options -> Custom Code"

If you want to add a quick custom code to the theme, you can do it in Theme Options -> Custom Code

For example your Google Analytics code can be pasted into the "Custom Tracking/Analytics" field.

Old settings

Let's open the Site Preferences panel and select the "Uncategorized" (or any other category) from the left selection.

Here you can customize that category. Note what are the old values on the screenshot above because we will be changing those and demonstrating it.

How to change the Skin

Skin Location

All skin related images and css are located in:

/lcp/skins/colorname/

If you want PSD files, all available PSD files are not part of the theme folder to save space on your server, but they are part of the big package you have downloaded when you purchased this theme. There is a PSD folder inside that package. If needed you can merge the files from psd_small folder into the theme folder to have them right next to their jpg png etc counterparts.

Please always backup your files and database before updating.

You have 2 ways to update:

A) Replace the old theme folder with the new one, navigate to "Appearance -> Themes" and re-activate the theme.

B) Replace only the changed files as per our changelog: http://demo.freshface.net/file/lcp5/wp/wp-content/themes/lcp/changelog.txt When done, navigate to "Appearance -> Themes" and re-activate the theme.

NOTE: LCP v5.0 is not backwards compatible with older versions. The v5.0 version is like a brand new theme so please do not update your old installations with v5.0+.
